Measuring Weight

For this lesson, you will need a balance and a variety of classroom objects. Have different students choose different items to compare and then complete the comparison statements on the board. (Delete the examples so that you can start with a clean slate.) You can even string several completed statements together to draw logical conclusions about two items that haven't been measured yet. (For example, if the calculator weighs less than the scissors and the scissors weigh less than the glue, what can you predict about the calculator and the glue?)
