Blends Charts

Use this phonics lesson with K-2 students. After the class has been introduced to a blend or other word pattern, have students look for examples of that blend or word pattern in their independent reading. Leave the blend screen up on the SMART Board during independent reading time. When students find a word in a book, they come up to the screen, drag down the blend with a finger, and then use a marker to write the rest of the word.
